PM Narendra Modi flags off Kathmandu-Delhi bus service
On
25th November 2014, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepalese
counterpart Sushil Koirala flagged off the Kathmandu-Delhi bus service
from Kathmandu. This service was named as Pashupatinath Express.
This
service is aimed to boost the bilateral ties between the two
neighbouring countries and also expected to give a major boost to trade
and tourism.
Route of the bus will be from Kathmandu to Bhairawa to Sanauli to Gorakhpur to Lucknow to New Delhi.
Legendary Kathak danseuse Sitara Devi died at 94
On 25th November 2014 Legendary Kathak danseuse Sitara Devi passed away in Mumbai. She was 94 years old.
Sitara
Devi was a gem of Indian dance and was honoured with many prestigious
awards including Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, Padma Shri and Kalidas
Samman. When she was just 16 years old then after watching her
performance Rabindranath Tagore described her as Nritya Samragini. Apart
from performing at various national and international platforms she
also gave her performances in various hindi movies like Usha Haran,
Nagina, Roti, Vatan, Anjali, Mother India etc.
